Creating my own morning ritual has transformed my life. I started writing my affirmations out every morning in a journal about 6 years ago. After I write my affirmations, I speak them out loud into the universe. (We’ll share more about how your words have power in the next couple of days.)
Starting today, and through the rest of this journey, create a 5-minute morning ritual and do it every day without exception. This is YOUR sacred time each day to craft the life of your dreams. Our only rule is that you do it as close to waking as possible, as that you don’t pick up your phone until after it’s finished. Of course, if you need your phone to play a mantra or find a meditation, that’s fine. Just no scrolling Instagram or checking email. Mornings can be hectic—I have two kids, I know—so if you need to set your alarm a little earlier, I promise it will be worth it.
Of course, this journey is all about exploration, so it’s normal to try a few different things until you find one that sticks. Simple is best at first. Don’t feel like your ritual needs to include all of the things. As long as it helps you be present, it’s enough. We’ll be diving deeper into some of the topics below like meditation and affirmations over the next couple of days, so it’s totally okay if they feel a bit foreign to you right now.
Some morning ritual ideas:
Slowly sip your cup of coffee (or tea!) in bed or outside, feeling it warm your body from the inside out. Think of 5 things you’re grateful for in the moment.
Journal any dreams you had the night before, any visions for your day, or any freeform thoughts that come as soon as you put your pen to paper.
Find a short guided meditation (hint: we’ll have some for you to try tomorrow!).
Write affirmations or “I AM” statements. There’s no limit to how many. Often the affirmations you need are ones you don’t quiet believe are true just yet (but you will!).
✨ I AM worthy
✨ I AM magical and magnificent
✨ I AM open to creating my own spiritual rituals
✨ I love me!
✨ I embody self-love!
Pulling an oracle or tarot card for guidance
Reading your daily horoscope
And a few longer ones:
Go for a run
Roll out your mat and intuitively stretch your body
Practice a kundalini kriya or breathwork (more on that tomorrow)
Whatever you choose as your daily ritual, know that it is helping you gain control of your life, and ultimately helping you Reclaim Your Magic!
