The New Moon in Taurus arrives on Tuesday, May 11th. New moons in Taurus are always about new beginnings, and are the perfect time for things to take root. You can literally plant flowers to help feed and nurture Mother Earth, or you can figurately plant them with your hopes and dreams. Take some time this new moon to plant roots into your life towards the things that mean the most to you.
This month’s new moon ritual comes from the book “Moon Power” by Simone Butler, and it is all about reconnecting with the abundant power of nature.
You will need the following items:
A green plant with substantial leaves
Cash (preferably large bills)
Journal and a pen
Sit at a table indoors or outdoors and light your green candle. Call in your Goddesses (not sure who to call in, we love working with Artemis during this time) to come into your space and bless this ritual.
Place your plant, candle, and pile of cash in front of you. Make sure your journal is close by. Sit with your plant and take some deep breathes. As you breathe, imagine Mother Earth coming up into your body from the bottom of your feet that are planted on the ground. As you inhale and exhale, return your energy to Mother Earth giving her honor.
Take a leaf of your plant into your left hand and place your left hand over your heart. With each breath give gratitude to your plant. Once you feel nothing but the pure energy of gratitude towards your plant, place your money around the base of the plant.
As you lay the money out, say the following: “Sacred cash, I hereby command that with each wave of my hand, you take on increased power and energy, and bring great prosperity back to me.” Then, give appreciation to the money. When you feel ready, put the supercharged cash into your wallet knowing it is full of abundance. (We also love putting it under a mat near your front door, and leaving it until the Full Moon.) Know that each time you spend it, prosperity will grow.
Now, give thanks to your goddesses and blow out your candle. Take a few minutes to journal anything that may have come up during this ritual.
