If you’re anything like me, I’m sure you’re a little confused right now. Tapping? WTF does that have to do with anything? And how is it going to make me feel better? Emotional Freedom Technique, or tapping, is where you tap on the meridian points of the body in a specific order to move energy. (Similar to acupuncture pressure points.) We store deep trauma within the body, and this is just another tool to help you get that shit out.
I’ll be honest, the first time I tapped, I didn’t quite get the fuss. I also didn’t rate my feelings beforehand. Before you hit play, write down how you’re feeling about yourself at this exact moment on a scale from 1-10 where 10 is so awful you want to crawl in a hole, and 1 is like you’re on top of the world. Got it written down? Good. Hit play. Also, grab a large cup of water.
